The Canadian Foundation for Innovation and Research (CFIR), incorporated in February 2025 under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act, turns corporate sponsorship into entrepreneurial education. The Foundation funds full scholarships for the three programmes at its designated institution, the York Entrepreneurship Development Institute (YEDI) in Toronto, capital for the seed grants YEDI’s venture fund awards to Incubator graduates who apply for them, and applied research published open-access. CFIR holds the funding and the accountability; YEDI admits the people and educates them through the three programmes.
